Systems Administrator

TEKsystems has a client that is looking to add another person to their team supporting users in their Troy & Warren locations. This person will work with another on-site team member to ensure that users have functioning equipment and their network & systems are working properly. This role will be responsible for setting up and maintaining servers, workstations, and general network functionality. Day to day responsibilities will be centered around troubleshooting, system administration, capacity planning, and ensuring established network security principles are adhered too.

• Ability to create scripts (VBScript, PowerShell, Perl, PHP and / or Python) - not required but PowerShell would be preferential.
• Working knowledge of TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN and WAN to troubleshoot and address server issues.
• Knowledgeable on firewalls, proxy and databases to keep the network and user information secure.
• Must be able to act as a technical resource and participate for system / network projects and knowledge of back up.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and team members.
• Knowledge of network diagramming software. (Microsoft Visio preferred)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00 / hr.
