Overview Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical
Responsibilities Design systems (heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, hydronics, steam, plumbing, gas, and compressed-air utilities) for Mission Critical facilities project types.
Work on Mission Critical projects and Data Center facility design.
Demonstrated history of working on large-scale design projects.
Design mechanical systems.
Understand computation fluid designs, MEP / FP engineering design, and failure / reliability studies.
Possess working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
Possess working knowledge of different mechanical systems.
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices.
Perform space planning to guide mechanical room sizing.
Identify potential conflicts early through collaborative design.
Develop mechanical construction documentation and BIM models utilizing Revit MEP or similar CAD package.
Supervise the installation of the designed systems and equipment.
Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
Oversee the production of design documents by graduate engineers.
Balance workload and varying requirements of multiple complex projects.
Attend client meetings and represent the mechanical interests of the firm.
Occasional travel within the US.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10 years of licensed experience designing mechanical HVAC / plumbing systems for commercial and / or industrial buildings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Revit MEP and / or AutoCAD MEP.
Ability to obtain security clearance.
Base Compensation : $145,000-$180,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location)
