Position : General Litigation / Transportation Attorney

Location : Detroit / Bloomfield Hills

Plunkett Cooney, one of the largest and most accomplished law firms in the Midwest, is seeking two General Litigation / Transportation attorneys, to join our Detroit or Bloomfield Hills office.

Preferred candidates will be experienced and versatile attorneys, with a client-centric philosophy, and who can demonstrate an ability to compete and prosper in complex environments.

To be considered, candidates must have :

• At least three to- five years of experience in transportation law and litigation practice
• Proficiency in the independent handling of litigation matters such as commercial litigation, premises liability, general negligence, property damage, construction and / or personal injury related
• Experience handling Michigan No-Fault, Third Party & Commercial Auto Liability and Network Transportation Claims
• Experience in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, taking depositions and arguing motions
• Excellent research, legal brief writing and communication skills
• General litigation motion writing and courtroom oral skills
• Progressively more responsibility for client relations management
• Strong analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
• A J.D. from an ABA-approved law school, and
• An active member the State Bar of Michigan and be a member in good standing

We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to compete and prosper in highly competitive and complex environments, with significant client contact. Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills are required. The position is a hybrid remote work position, and candidates have the option to work in either our Detroit or Bloomfield Hills offices.
