Software Engineer

This is an opportunity for a Software Engineer position within First Orion’s data engineering team, responsible for designing and building data-driven products and services. The role involves working on low-latency, high-throughput APIs, ETL data pipelines, and managing big data applications with attention to detail. This role is part of our Data Architecture Team, and you will collaborate in the SDLC process by creating technical designs and providing input and feedback for high level designs. In this role you will work with your team leader, fellow team members, as well as product and data science stakeholders to collaborate on projects that safeguard hundreds of millions of consumers and enterprise businesses from telecommunications fraud.

What you’ll be doing :

• Work across multiple code repositories, programming languages, and frameworks
• Develop ETL jobs and analytics pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark
• Develop low-latency, high-throughput REST APIs, such as our call protection products
• Develop expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Databricks, and other relevant technologies to drive our technology roadmap forward.
• Author and contribute to Technical Designs (TDs) for new prioritized projects
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests for data-driven applications
• Reduce technical debt and make ETL jobs operationally supportable by leveraging tools within Databricks and AWS.
• Work with data scientists to integrate new models into products, optimize code, and take models from prototype to production.
