About The Position

Job Title : RN Clinical Nurse

Profession : RN

Hours per Shift : 6 : 45am-7 : 15pm

Experience : Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred

License : RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact

Certifications : BLS - Basic Life Support

Must-Have : NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or NRP-Provisional within 180 Days

Description :

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.

They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.

They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a Shared Governance Model.

The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research.

RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the organization's values.

It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act.

They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

As a member of the patient services team, individuals are expected to uphold the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.

Exemplary Practice and Outcomes

Performs the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation in clinical care using evidence-based practice.

Uses analytical and critical thinking to ensure that care is individualized and coordinates care through effective partnerships.

Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.

Tracks and adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.

Partners with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds.

Practices using current clinical practice standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care promoting a professional care delivery model.

Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner that promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.

Participates and supports performance improvement including all stakeholders, research, and its utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.

Leads activities that promote inter / intra-disciplinary processes and actively supports participation in shared governance.

Professional Development and Initiative

Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.

Serves as a preceptor and / or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students across all disciplines.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research

Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.

Participates in activities such as value analysis as part of the decision-making process in evaluating patient care products.

Upholds all organizational policies, standards, and competencies set forth by the job description and professional associations.

Participates in data collection and poses relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice.

Resources and Support

Proactively plans for the care of patients across the continuum while giving direct patient care.

Develops protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers to achieve best practice outcomes.

Supports the efficient and effective use of human and material resources.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all organizational policies, standards of work, and the code of conduct.
