Job Brief : The Operations Industrial Engineer I will be responsible for working with Operations and Automation teams for the planning, implementation management, and measurements of DHL processes in existing and new distribution centers. Summary : The Operations Industrial Engineer I will collaborate with Operations and Automation teams to plan, implement, manage, and measure DHL processes in existing and new distribution centers. Work with the team to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for 1-3 distribution centers and operations management.
  • Perform traditional Industrial Engineering tasks including staff planning models, productivity improvement, work methods and measurement standards, best practice identification, standardized process maintenance and procedure documentation.
  • Conduct advanced root cause analysis on field metrics to enhance cost effectiveness.
  • Analyze reports and data related to operations engineering performance (e.g., service performance, quality, cost per unit, pieces per hour).
  • Identify deviations in process / product / profile per customer or distribution center and describe them regularly.
  • Identify opportunities for layout optimization of existing distribution centers.
  • Conduct time studies, identify process deviations, and implement best practices.

Qualifications

Education and Experience : Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and 0-2 years applicable experience required. Experience in automation design and implementation preferred. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; comfort with Visio and / or AutoCAD; comfort with MS Project.

Required Skills : Change management, analytical capability, problem solving, project management, judgment, presentation / communication, interpersonal skills, and effective written / verbal communication across organization levels.

Physical Demands

Physical demands are consistent with a warehouse environment : exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and lighting; ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs (additional weight with assistance); frequent movement throughout the warehouse; flexible to work any shift.
