Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025 Duration : 52 weeks 48 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring comfort on all Progressive Care and Med / Surg units, with ACLS and Epic experience. Responsibilities Position based in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float pool within a hospital setting Covers all PCU and Med / Surg units as needed Night shifts with 3x12 hour (6 : 45pm-7 : 15am) schedule; 4x12 hour schedule available upon request Patient ratios : 5 : 1 on PCU units and 6-7 : 1 on Med / Surg units Floating between PCU and Med / Surg units may occur every 4 hours according to staffing needs Uses Epic EMR system and Epic experience is required Resource Pool RNs may be reassigned to any PCU or Med / Surg unit as hospital needs change Travelers are required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment and two holidays during winter holiday periods Christmas time-off requests cannot be approved Epic and orientation modules may be completed pre-start or during orientation Modules are non-billable if completed within the initial 24 hours of orientation Return and extension eligibility is limited for travelers based on distance to the facility and previous employment history Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory Epic EMR experience is required Must be comfortable working in all PCU and Med / Surg units Two professional references are required for consideration Must provide a copy of driver's license and social security card Candidates considered local if they reside within 100 miles and are not accepted unless otherwise noted Previous employees must have at least one year of separation before returning as a traveler, and travelers cannot return after working 365 days Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624663.
