JOB SUMMARY
The Production Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the production activities to achieve maximum profit, growth, and investment return goals. Directs all manufacturing operations for efficient and economical production at the lowest cost consistent with quality standards, volume requirements, production schedules, and delivery dates by performing the following job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Mentors team on task completion in specific areas, such as report accuracy, employee review timeliness, on-time delivery, and attendance / timekeeping reports.
- Reviews and analyzes production and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformance with product specifications.
- Directs and coordinates production activities with scheduling, engineering, maintenance, and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization.
- Recommends, authorizes, and promotes all required training programs necessary for production personnel for company and personal improvement.
- Establishes production goals and ensures all plant operations run efficiently.
- Frequently reviews all correspondence (i.e., voice mail messages, emails, faxes, mail) and responds to all requests in a timely manner.
- Maintains knowledge of and enforces all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Performs personnel tasks with the assistance of the Human Resources Department as needed to effectively maintain departmental staff, such as :
- Interviewing and training
- Addressing complaints
- Investigating and resolving employee issues
- Conducting performance reviews
- Understands and enforces all Prince Industries quality certifications.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
Excellent communication skills required to effectively communicate in both oral and written form and interact with all levels of the company, with a flair for persuasion.Excellent computer skills to effectively generate reports and input required data.Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills are required to complete work assignments and prioritize urgent matters.Must be organized and able to perform multiple tasks concurrently.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in all phases of related production management.Previous supervisory responsibility.Experience in a related manufacturing work environment is preferred.Certification, formal training, or continued education strongly desired.Experience working in a CNC shop strongly preferred.PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to walk or sit for the duration of the workday (8–9 hours).Frequently may lift, push, or pull up to 45 lbs.Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, reach, or bend.Frequently required to perform repetitive hand movements when doing computer work.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, in which 20 / 20 vision or corrected vision to 20 / 20 vision is required.Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts when in the plant.Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants and oils.The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud when working in the plant, in which hearing protection is required.Benefits
