Remote Java Tech Lead

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Remote Java Tech Lead to spearhead technical solutions within our Java TechKnowledge Center (TKC). This role is not about people management but about leading innovation and solving complex technical challenges across internal's application teams.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on expert in Java frameworks—particularly Spring (moving from Spring 3.05 to Spring Boot 3.56)—and will help build reusable assets, including a Java Kickstart platform that enables developers to bootstrap applications with pre-configured frameworks, backend connectivity (Hibernate, Spring JDBC), and UI integration. Responsibilities include creating downloadable components in Nexus, developing reusable services, and collaborating with architects to identify scalable, reusable solutions.

The Tech Lead will support teams stuck on technical issues, drive modernization of legacy technologies, and contribute to AI asset development. Experience with cloud containers, open-source tools, and UI frameworks within Java or Python is essential. This role requires leadership-level technical conversations, architectural collaboration, and a passion for R&D.

Skills and Requirements

• Java (Core & Advanced) – deep expertise required
• Spring Framework – including legacy Spring 3.05 and migration to Spring Boot 3.56
• Hibernate – for backend connectivity
• Spring JDBC – for database integration
• Cloud Containers – experience deploying in any cloud environment
• Open Source Software – familiarity with various OSS tools
• CI / CD Pipelines – awareness of integration, even if not yet implemented
• UI Frameworks within Java – any experience is valuable
• Python for AI asset development and general scripting
• Experience creating reusable asset development – build frameworks and components for developer use
