About the Opportunity
Join a nationally recognized Pediatric ECMO team providing lifesaving care to critically ill infants and children. As an ECMO Specialist, you’ll operate advanced life-support systems and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary pediatric and neonatal intensive care team.
This position is ideal for a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with prior ECMO experience and a strong background in pediatric or neonatal critical care .
What You’ll Do
- Operate and monitor ECMO systems during critical procedures in pediatric and neonatal settings.
- Deliver expert bedside care and manage life-support therapies for critically ill patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond to rapid response and emergency situations as part of the ECMO team.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and document ECMO circuit performance and parameters.
- Follow all infection-control and patient-safety standards, ensuring the highest quality of care.
- Participate in ongoing ECMO training, simulations, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for ECMO practices, pediatric critical care, and respiratory management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) or degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited programLicenses & Certifications :
Active RN license (Texas or Compact state) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRCBasic Life Support (BLS) requiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferredExperience :
Minimum 2 years of prior ECMO specialist experience (required)Prior experience in pediatric or neonatal intensive care (NICU / PICU) settings (required)Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsSchedule
