About The Position

Job Title : Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in an Endoscopy environment

License : NYS RN Licensure

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Minimum of 1 year experience serving in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse

Description :

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families.

The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode.

The Endoscopy RN develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions.

He / She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions.

The Endoscopy RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment.

He / She applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.

The RN assesses patient / family needs through active listening and analyzing data or information obtained through direct observation / assessment, technology, or health team communication.

A developmentally and age-appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of care is created to address the nature and scope of the health problems identified.

In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, goals are set and the patient's progress is monitored.

The RN adjusts the plan based on patient response or change in condition.

The RN promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient.

Mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members are encouraged to accomplish the best possible patient outcomes.

The RN teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks and interventions consistent with the individual's education, training, and scope of practice.

The RN understands the personal responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies.

The patient and family are motivated by teaching them what is needed to continue care / healing at home.

The RN assesses patient / family learning styles and structures sessions to maximize understanding.

Teachable moments during the care delivery process are sought to emphasize pertinent information.

The RN asks questions to evaluate retention of key points in the self-care process.

Tools and information are provided to assist the patient’s family after discharge.

Education provided and the patient / family response to the education are documented.

The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses results from quality improvement activities to initiate changes in nursing practice and care delivery.

Self-evaluation of practice is engaged in, identifying strengths and areas where professional development would be beneficial.

Accountability to increase knowledge and enhance skills is taken.

Logic and reasoning are used to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Nursing practice reflects the importance of making a meaningful connection with the patient and family.

The RN seeks to develop a helping, trusting, and caring relationship by being present in the moment of interaction, listening, communicating, engaging, and anticipating the patient / family's needs.
