The Role

As Oshi Health's first Data Engineering Manager, you'll lead the team responsible for building and scaling the data platform powering our Marketing, Analytics, AI and RCM systems. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of engineering, clinical operations, and business strategy. You will ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and security of data across the organization, partnering with Growth, Finance, Analytics, and Operations teams. This is a true player-coach role, ideal for someone who can dive deep into technical architecture while shaping a cohesive data strategy.

What you'll do

  • Define and execute the long-term technical roadmap for Oshi's data platform, balancing scalability, reliability and cost against mission-critical goals
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data engineering team with a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
  • Design, scale, and maintain secure data pipelines and infrastructure (e.g., AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, Segment, Salesforce) to unify data across systems
  • Define and manage data models that support analytics, clinical insights, and operational reporting
  • Implement data testing, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Automate and optimize data workflows for efficiency and scalability
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Business Operations to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Develop career paths for data engineers and support scalable growth
  • Partner with Security and IT to uphold data governance, audit trails, and HIPAA compliance

Who you are

  • BS / BA in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of data engineering experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role
  • Deep expertise with modern data tools and lakehouse architectures
  • Proficient in SQL and Python / Go, with experience building scalable ETL systems
  • Strong data governance, quality, and regulatory compliance experience
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of data security and HIPAA compliance; experience with healthcare data formats (FHIR / HL7) is a plus

    Compensation Compensation Range : $180,000 - $200,000 USD. Salary offered is based on role, level, and internal equity. Details may be updated during the hiring process.
