As a Surveillance Agent, you help protect the heart of Ko-Kwel. Your role ensures honesty, fairness, and integrity in our gaming operations while safeguarding the well-being of the people who walk through our doors.
What you bring to the table
- Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
- Protect Tribal assets to ensure honesty and integrity in all gaming operations.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of casino operations, Gaming Commission Regulations, MICS, and Title 31 requirements.
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Communicate openly with the Surveillance team and other departments or agencies.
- Operate surveillance cameras to observe and investigate suspicious activity on the gaming floor.
- Carefully observe, record, and report daily casino activity.
- Monitor table games, slots, cage, soft count, vault, and non-gaming areas.
- Train in camera use, cheating methods, game protection, basic strategy, and card counting.
- Assist Security in protecting the welfare of employees and guests.
- Use surveillance equipment and software to identify and record suspicious or illegal activity.
- Assist in investigations led by Surveillance leadership or the Gaming Commission.
- Support law enforcement investigations when necessary.
- Accurately complete logs, reports, video reviews, and other documentation.
- Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

This role means spending long hours in a secure, enclosed space, sitting and observing attentively. You'll use your eyes and hands constantly to monitor equipment and record activity. Sometimes you'll need to lift or move up to 10 pounds. You may work evenings, weekends, and holidays, often with short notice. The pace can be intense, and you'll need to make decisions under pressure. Please note that the casino environment includes regular exposure to secondhand smoke.

High school diploma or GED.Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Strong report writing skills and attention to detail.Ability to do math without a calculator.Comfort using Microsoft programs and surveillance software.Ability to pass a background check and drug-free workplace requirements.A dependable, disciplined work ethic.One year of experience in gaming surveillance, investigations, loss prevention, or casino operations.Familiarity with table games, including odds and payouts.Understanding of advantage play techniques like card counting.Formal education or certification in gaming or surveillance.A knack for spotting the unusual before anyone else does.A genuine passion for keeping people safe and ensuring fairness.Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.Must be 21 years of age or older.Ko-Kwel Casino Resort is owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe.
