Independent Optometrist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team at a well-established optical store in beautiful Litchfield, Connecticut, 2 days per week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, and prescribing corrective eyeglass and contact lenses. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and an understanding of the latest advancements in optometry. We have an existing large client base just waiting for the perfect doctor!

• Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, providing appropriate treatment options.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and educate patients on proper eyewear usage.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated on advancements in optometry, ophthalmology, and optical systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support during the sales of eyewear products.
• Educate patients about eye health, including the importance of regular check-ups.
• Qualifications
• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid state license to practice optometry.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common ocular diseases.
• Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Experience in sales within the optical field is a plus.
• Proficient understanding of various optical systems and equipment.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
