Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care related activities including : assisting the providers and performing a variety of diagnostic Lab and X-ray procedures according to established policies and procedures.
Job Functions
When performing nursing support functions
- Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification / licensure
- Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients
- Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day
- Assists in arranging referrals / prior authorizations as necessary
- Assists with patient education
- Performs other duties as assigned
When performing Lab and / or X-ray functions
Maintains stocked supplies and inventorySterilizes instruments, exam rooms and equipmentPerforms testing procedures as requiredPrepares procedure room / area and instructs patientsTroubleshoots and maintains equipmentCompletes daily QA / QC procedures and provides maintenance / adjustments to equipmentPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Education / Work Experience / License / Certifications
Graduate of an AMA accredited school of RadiologyRegistered by the ARRTGraduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical NursingGraduate of clinical laboratory program and / or ability to display and complete job competenciesCurrent LPN Licensure or Medical Assistant (MA) or Registered Assistant (RMA)Current CPR certificationKnowledge / Skills / Abilities
