Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IIb Special Care Nursery (NICU) position requiring a MA RN license and recent NICU experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 25-bed Level 2B Special Care Nursery within a hospital setting
  • Unit encompasses Labor & Delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, and two operating rooms
  • Patient populations include mothers, newborns, and infants needing Level 2B NICU care
  • Labor & Delivery nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 for evaluations and 1 : 1 for active labor, postpartum is 1 : 3-4
  • Average daily census is 15-25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients
  • Schedule is 36 hours per week, night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30, with every other weekend required
  • EMR system used is Epic
  • No floating required for this position
  • Dress code and scrub requirements follow hospital policy
  • Flu vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions are not allowed
  • Parking may require use of public lots with daily fees
  • Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for full rate eligibility; local rate is 5% less

  • Active and unrestricted MA RN license required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum two years of recent NICU experience required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required; certifications must be from AHA or Red Cross
  • Special Care Nursery and newborn care skill set required
  • Experience with Epic charting preferred
