Electro-Mechanical Systems Design Engineer

TECHFORGE Solutions, a TECHFORGE company, is looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join our team in the Dayton, OH office.

The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will work on the design, development, testing, and optimization of integrated electro-mechanical systems, focusing on the design of circuitry and integration of low SWaP power systems into small form factors.

Secret Clearance required. Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop electro-mechanical systems that integrate electrical components with mechanical systems.
Build prototypes of electro-mechanical systems and conduct thorough testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
Identify areas for improvement and optimize designs based on test results.
Work closely with electrical engineers and mechanical engineers to ensure smooth integration of electrical and mechanical components.
Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during the manufacturing or testing phase.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical system failures and implement effective solutions.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and user manuals.
Create reports to communicate findings and design progress to management and clients.

REQUIREMENTS

All candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

All candidates must pass a background check.

Must have an active (or recently inactive) Secret clearance to start; or the ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Clearance.

Must be able to travel up to 10% (CONUS) as needed.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a remote, collaborative, team environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Academic degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in electro-mechanical engineering, ideally in the manufacturing, automation, aerospace or commercial electronics industry.

Experience with electrical circuit design, control systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and automation systems.

Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

SALARY

145,000 – 195,000
