Location : Remote with minimal travel expectation, approximately once every 6-8 weeks or so. Travel primarily to Cedar Rapids, IA
JOB DESCRIPTION
A SAP Service and Asset Manager Architect is a technical expert who designs and implements solutions using SAP's Service and Asset Manager module, specializing in managing and maintaining an organization's physical assets throughout their lifecycle, by defining system architecture, integrating with other SAP modules, and ensuring efficient workflows for maintenance activities across the entire asset management process, often utilizing mobile capabilities for field technicians to access critical asset data and work orders.
Key responsibilities :
Requirements Gathering : Understand business needs and translate them into functional specifications for SAP Service and Asset Manager implementation, including asset classification, maintenance strategies, work order management, and reporting requirements.
Solution Design : Design the overall architecture of the SAP Service and Asset Manager system, including data structures, workflows, interfaces with other SAP modules (like ERP, PLM), and mobile application integration.
Configuration and Customization : Configure SAP Service and Asset Manager based on business requirements, including customizing screens, fields, and workflows to optimize asset management processes.
Integration Management : Ensure seamless data exchange between SAP Service and Asset Manager and other systems, managing interfaces and data mapping.
Mobile Application Development : Design and develop mobile applications for technicians using SAP Service and Asset Manager mobile capabilities, enabling offline access and real-time data updates.
Testing and Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough testing of system functionality, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
Deployment and Training : Support system deployment and provide training to end users on how to utilize SAP Service and Asset Manager features effectively.
Maintenance and Support : Provide ongoing support for the SAP Service and Asset Manager system, resolving issues, implementing updates, and addressing user queries.
Required Skills :
Deep Expertise in SAP Service and Asset Manager : Comprehensive understanding of SAP Service and Asset Manager functionalities, including work orders, notifications, asset hierarchies, maintenance plans, condition monitoring, and mobile capabilities.
SAP Architecture Knowledge : Familiarity with overall SAP architecture, integration points, and data flow across different modules within the SAP ecosystem.
Technical Skills : Proficient in SAP configuration tools, ABAP programming (if needed), and knowledge of database concepts.
Business Process Analysis : Ability to analyze business processes related to asset management and translate them into effective system solutions.
Project Management Skills : Experience in managing project timelines, deliverables, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Communication and Collaboration : Excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders at all levels, gather requirements, and explain technical concepts clearly.
