This position is responsible for planning, organization, logistics, execution, improvement and financial results of EAA SportAir Workshops programming. Secondary responsibilities include the oversight and staff liaison duties for the AirVenture Workshops and Forums. This position will closely work with the Director of Communities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for all aspects of the Workshop program. Specific duties involved :

Development of schedule

  • Budgeting and financial results
  • Recruiting and scheduling of facilities with third parties
  • Material logistics
  • Upgrading course offerings and expansion online
  • Recruitment and scheduling of instructors
  • Evaluation of results
  • Works collaboratively with internal marketing resources to support acquisition of attendees
  • Responsible for course curricula maintenance and development
  • Monitors and updates website
  • Responsible for leading the development of new online based programming that will provide additional self-paced, structured learning for our members
  • Staff liaison for AirVenture Workshops and Forums programs
  • Delivers commitments to members by providing value and ensures exceptional member experiences along with seeking feedback from members
  • Manage budgets and forecasts to measure business performance
  • Technical writing, video presentation, forum presentation and workshop instruction
  • Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business or similar. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Four years of related experience developing and / or teaching to adults
  • Previous experience and knowledge of EAA
  • At least three years aircraft building experience, preferably having finished and flying E-AB
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Adapts well to change and communicates the message to key stakeholders
  • Public speaking skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% is required, often on weekends
  • During peak workshop times the job can be physical prepping materials, must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience instructing workshops or providing forums for EAA
  • Previous experience leading volunteers
  • Pilot certificate
  • Physical Requirements

    Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
