Television News Photographer

Position Overview :

WINK News is seeking a talented and experienced Television News Photographer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for storytelling through the lens, a passion for capturing compelling visuals, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced news environment. This position requires a strong understanding of broadcast journalism, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality news content.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Capture high-quality video footage for daily news broadcasts, special reports, and feature stories.
  • Work closely with reporters, producers, and other newsroom staff to ensure visual content aligns with the overall storytelling goals.
  • Edit video footage efficiently and creatively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Operate and maintain camera equipment, lighting, and audio gear to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct live shots and on-location shoots, often under tight time constraints and varying weather conditions.
  • Ensure all video content meets WINK News standards for accuracy, clarity, and visual appeal.
  • Collaborate with the newsroom team to develop and execute creative visual storytelling ideas.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a television news photographer or similar role in a broadcast news environment.
  • Proficiency with professional video cameras, editing software.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and composition.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a television news photographer.
  • Experience with live broadcasting and conducting live shots.
  • Knowledge of drone operation and FAA certification are a plus.
