Overview
Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op (Jan. - Aug. or May - Dec. '26) at Millerbernd. Onsite in Winsted, MN. 1st shift, Monday – Friday, business hours. Salary range : $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform time studies by timing and / or videos of shop floor work and tabulate results to improve processes and line operations.
- Draw and design layouts using SolidWorks to aid in plant expansion and equipment placement.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop jigs, fixtures, and workstations for manufacturing processes.
- Participate in project management activities (timelines, financial analysis, procurement, Gantt charts, vendor contacts) from start to finish.
- Create, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation (part routings, work instructions, standard process times, standard work).
- Support manufacturing engineers in day-to-day tasks and problem resolution.
- Support Continuous Improvement projects.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Technology.Desirable courses : Time & Motion Study, CAD, Manufacturing Materials and Processes, Statistical Analysis, Production and Operations Analysis, Facilities Layout / Manufacturing Cost Analysis or related.Fundamental understanding of Lean and Six Sigma desired.Strong engineering concepts and ability to apply to real-world problems.Exposure to paint, welding, fabrication, and machine shop processes or systems desired.Exposure to DFA / DFM desired.Experience with CAD systems for design and documentation.Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints; experience with test and measurement equipment.Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Willingness to work in a hands-on production environment; good listening, analytical, and data-documentation skills.Technical problem-solving in a production environment.Benefits
