Music Director Job at The Crossing in Chesterfield

Our church... is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.

Music Director ...this full-time position is responsible for the oversight of the music team staff and related staff to assist and develop the worship music and music team members of The Crossing in a way that consistently upholds the values and beliefs of The Crossing.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Development & Leadership Oversee and Manage Music Production Staff

Stay current with team members through written and oral communication on a regular basis

Develop training opportunities and resources for team members

Be active part in the Potential & New Team Members Process

Creative Processes for Music and Programming Songwriting

Song and idea demos

Recording / song production

Execution of Worship-related Music and Staffing Details Staff Musicians & Worship Leaders for weekend and specified events Based on programming needs and teams per campus

Oversee contractors, including onboarding and invoicing

Oversee musical aspects of Baptism Concert and work with production staff to accommodate

Communication of Programming Details Communicate details from programming meetings to music staff and oversee Planning Center Online All musical details properly loaded to Planning Center (charts, mp3’s, etc.)

Ableton details (i.e. looped section for pivot)

Song forms

Communicate details from programming meetings to musicians and Worship Leaders Confirm key signatures with leads at all sites

Specific music details to musicians (i.e. drum pad for an instrument)

Work with producers to assign vocal leads for each campus

WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience

Advanced knowledge of industry-standard pre-production technology including, but not limited to, Ableton Live, Pro-Tools or comparable DAW, and other software

Be willing to learn and train others on new music production technology

Ability to play at least one instrument and communicate effectively details for all instruments used at a worship venue at The Crossing

Experienced worship leader and vocalist

Self-motivated
