About The Position

Description : Unit has 30 beds.

Holiday requests will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed.

Ratios are 1 to 5.

Clinical supervisor will perform break relief and will not take patient assignments.

Two nurse aides are available on days and one on nights.

Weekend requirement is four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule.

Holidays will be incorporated into permanent staff rotation.

Scrub color is navy.

No telemetry; portable telemetry box available if needed.

Monitor technicians are present; nurses must be able to read and interpret telemetry rhythms and will be required to take a dysrhythmia exam.

Ventilators are not available.

Hospitalist and intensivist are not in-house.

Hospitalist coverage is available 24 / 7.

IV team is available.

Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Shifts will be from 6 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AM.

Floating to telemetry with a 1 : 4 ratio may be required, as well as floating between medical surgical floors.

Floor-specific orientation will be conducted for one shift on the unit.

Common diagnosis includes medical patients and post-operative surgical patients.

Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience in the specialty, prior travel experience, and must be a team player.

The hospital can cancel up to four shifts for assignments of 13 weeks or more and three shifts for assignments that are shorter than 13 weeks.

Charting system used is Cerner.

BSN is not required.

Trauma level is 2.

Care setting is acute nursing.
