Overview

Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for Pediatric Critical Care at Ascension Seton / Dell Children's Hospital, Austin, TX. The role is part of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team, providing interdependent and independent care in a high-acuity setting in collaboration with PICU physicians. Schedule includes variable shifts with days / nights / holidays / weekends, 24 / 7 coverage in a critical care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history and perform assessments; order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies; conduct preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and patient care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions; refer to other providers or community resources as needed.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families about preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Document care in accordance with specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

    • Qualifications

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration :

    • Nurse Practitioner credential from the Texas Board of Nursing (required).

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing (required).
  • BLS Provider (AHA) preferred.
  • DEA credentialing preferred.
  • Education : Master's degree in Nursing required.
