Hickory Regional Airport – Airport Operations Supervisor

JOB TITLE : Airport Operations Supervisor Grade 17DEPARTMENT : Airport, City of HickoryJOB SUMMARY : This position is responsible for managing the operations of the city airport.MAJOR DUTIES :

• Manages daily airfield maintenance operations; participates in and supervises the maintenance of runways, lighting systems, signs, fences, gates, buildings, facilities, and grounds.
• Works on all requirements pertinent to the Airport Certification Manual.
• Supervises the work of the airport maintenance team.
• Assists with the processing of invoices, requisition orders, and purchase orders.
• Supervises the work of community service workers; schedules and assigns tasks to workers.
• Coordinates activities with other city departments.
• Ensures the Airport Maintenance Team is cross-trained with other FBO responsibilities to serve as backup for Line-Tech operations and CSR support.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION :
• Knowledge of airport operations and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of local ordinances and department rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines and local airport operations guidelines.
• Knowledge of airfield lighting maintenance and repair.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in the use of handheld radios.
• Skill in the use of dump trucks, snow plows, tractors, tugs, de-icing equipment and other equipment used in the maintenance of the airport runway.
