Purpose :

The primary purpose of this job position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of your assigned area. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility and as may be required by the Director of Nursing, Unit Manager or Charge Nurse to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities :

• Supervise all resident care, services and unit activities (routinely check on residents, assess the daily needs of the residents, execute necessary facility policies and procedures regarding admission, transfers, discharges, critically ill and deaths).
• Coordinate resident care maintaining and implementing rehabilitative, restorative, and supportive programs.
• Maintain accurate, current resident charts via computer including physician visits, orders, and stop orders, resident care plans, medication and treatment records.
• Provide feedback to the Unit Manager and / or Charge Nurse regarding resident care and status.
• Receive Floor Nurse report from previous shift and create a report for the following shift (including a narcotic count and transfer of keys).
• Execute all appropriate nursing department policies and procedures in the delivery of care.
