Description :
The ED RN functions primarily in direct patient care.
The RN demonstrates competent clinical practice with a variety of patients.
The RN works as part of a team with a common goal of offering patient-centered, timely care.
The environment is safe and friendly.
The RN provides individualized compassionate care to emergency department patients, observation patients, and outpatients.
In life-threatening situations, the RN initiates immediate care in the absence of a physician.
The RN offers nonjudgmental care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients.
This position requires the ability to perform multiple procedures, utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills.
The RN assists the physician and other team members to provide relationship-based patient-centered care.
Comfort is provided to patients, their families, and visitors both physically and psychologically.
The RN uses the Relationship-Based Care Model to guide interactions.
Patient-specific discharge and follow-up instructions are provided to the patient and family.
Communication with EMS occurs on a daily basis.
The RN relays appropriate orders from the physician for pre-hospital care in a friendly and respectful manner.
Working with multiple types of sophisticated equipment is required.
The RN handles various types of patients in a friendly and frequently stressful environment.
The RN maintains a friendly customer-oriented attitude at all times.
It is expected that all team members will work together to provide the best possible care.
The RN treats every person encountered with kindness, compassion, respect, and relationship-based care.
Regular assessments of patient needs are conducted, and skilled nursing services are provided as prescribed.
Direct patient care includes medication administration, treatments, education, assistance with transfers, responding to alarms, and other duties as assigned.
The effectiveness of treatment plans is evaluated, and suggestions for updates or revisions are made in collaboration with other team members.
The RN is knowledgeable and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Maintaining knowledge of specific policies and procedures relating to the care provided is essential.
Professional nursing standards are upheld.
