Job Overview :

A nationally respected defense litigation firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its St. Louis, MO office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys in the early stages of their career to gain courtroom experience and hands-on involvement in all phases of complex litigation. The firm focuses heavily on toxic tort defense and other high-exposure civil litigation matters. The role offers mentorship from senior trial lawyers and the opportunity to grow within a vibrant, client-driven practice.

Location : St. Louis, Missouri

Duties :

Manage a caseload of litigated claims, developing tailored defense strategies

Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, and mediations

Draft motions, discovery responses, and client communications

Conduct legal research and analyze discovery materials, medical records, and expert opinions

Investigate witnesses, worksites, and case-related facts

Collaborate with a national team of attorneys on complex litigation matters

Requirements :

0–4 years of experience in civil litigation (toxic tort experience is a plus)

Strong interest in litigation and trial work

Experience drafting discovery and pre-trial motions

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

Detail-oriented with a proactive, client-focused approach

Education :

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Strong academic credentials preferred

Certifications :

Active Bar membership in Missouri and Illinois (required)

In good standing with respective state bars

Skills :

Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills

Strong organizational and time-management abilities

Self-starter capable of balancing competing deadlines

Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
