Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of recent LDRP and nursery experience and an active IL RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit with LDRP and nursery responsibilities
  • Manage patients including Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, Gynecology, Gestational Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, and multiple births
  • Perform procedures such as circumcisions, hearing screens, newborn screens, general admissions, C-sections, and inductions of labor
  • Night shift position, 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 00), with an option for 4x12 hour schedule
  • Required to work 1 Friday, 1 Saturday, and 1 Sunday shift within every 4-week schedule (not necessarily consecutive)
  • Average of 140-160 deliveries per month
  • Team typically includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 nurses, and 1 scrub tech per shift
  • No call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR, experience preferred
  • Locals living within a 70-mile radius are not eligible
  • Role includes caring for laboring patients, newborns, and post-surgical mothers
  • Expect to support circumcisions, C-sections, inductions, and newborn screening procedures
  • Support provided by in-house and on-call physicians
  • Pre-start training modules required, with RN modules possibly lasting up to 5-6 hours
  • Travelers may not exceed one year of consecutive work; a six-month break is required to return
  • Scrub attire required for the unit

  • Active Illinois RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP and nursery experience
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Preferred experience in Level 2 nursery, circulating, scrubbing, and triage
  • Must provide two professional supervisor references from the past 2 years
  • Must complete an OSHA respirator clearance and FIT testing prior to start
  • Must be clean shaven for FIT testing
