ABOUT THE ROLE
Join Us as an Associate Manager - Secondary Packaging Process Engineering
Are you passionate about driving innovation in packaging and manufacturing? As our Associate Manager of Secondary Packaging Process Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how we design, build, and optimize packaging systems across our global operations.
In this high-impact role, you'll serve as the go-to expert in secondary packaging processes and machinery-including carton forming, case erecting, case packing, palletizing, and robotics (including cobots). You'll apply your mechanical engineering expertise to elevate our technical capabilities, champion design-for-manufacturability with RD&E, and mentor site engineers to deliver on strategic global initiatives. You'll also play a key role in our Global Engineering Center of Excellence , leading front-end engineering, supporting execution, and introducing cutting-edge practices that spark innovation and continuous improvement across our diverse portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain relevant Design Guides, Specification Templates, and preferred vendor list for all major unit operations to ensure adherence to product, safety, and quality requirements
Interface with project team members and other cross functional groups on engineering needs in support of operation, capital planning and project execution
Provide technical support to enable decision making on secondary packaging and robotics equipment selection, standardization design of new packaging process, means and methods to comply with specifications & standards, and modify existing packaging equipment designs to improve production techniques
Develop machine safety expertise to support site engineers in reviewing equipment OEMs risk assessments and advice on recommended actions or improvements to be implemented
Provides engineering support activities for manufacturing facilities, which include major capital projects, equipment upgrades, major equipment and system purchases as well as installations
Provide feasible packaging solutions, as well as associated capital estimates and timelines for new marketing initiatives by coordinating with Global Product Supply, Technical Platform Experts, machine suppliers and internal customers
Investigates, and provides technical leadership in implementing cost saving projects, OEE Improvements and LEAN to existing processes and support systems globally
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 5+ years of experience or advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Consumer Packaging Goods, Food / Beverage, or Pharmaceutical Industries developing packaging equipment solutions
Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Communication - Strong oral and written communication skills with international teams
Teamwork - Balance team and individual responsibilities to foster group commitments to goals and objectives

Project Management - Success in developing, implementing global project plans and initiatives. Display strong competencies in communicating risks and mitigation plans to executive stakeholders
Continuous Improvement - knowledge and experience in driving TPM Early Management methodology and Lean Manufacturing
International project implementation experience is plus
