Surgery Director - St. Ignace, MI
Starting Salary : $90,000 – $100,000 annually (dependent on experience)
Position Overview :
The Surgery Director plans, directs, supervises, coordinates, and actively participates in the daily activities of the Surgical Services department. This role collaborates with leadership to develop the surgical service, lead performance improvement initiatives, manage staff, and ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for surgical services in collaboration with leadership.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor staff, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and discharge processes in coordination with HR.
- Determine and maintain staffing and scheduling patterns to ensure coverage for all areas of responsibility.
- Coordinate cross-training and orientation of staff to maximize efficiency and flexibility.
- Collaborate with physicians, management, and other departments to plan and deliver coordinated patient care.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of surgical care provided.
- Develop, review, and implement departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Recommend budget content and monitor expenses for compliance.
- Foster professional, respectful, and courteous interactions with patients, families, and staff.
- Participate in MSHS community activities to promote surgical services.
- Assist in recruitment and onboarding of surgical providers.
Qualifications & Requirements :
