Overview

The Employable Skills Training Facilitator's primary purpose is to oversee the development and implementation of OUCARES' Employment Skills Training program.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of OUCARES' Employment Skills Training program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, special education, human services, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' previous experience in an administrative position.
  • Minimum 2 years' previous experience working with individuals with special needs.
  • Must have basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media.
  • Positive attitude, flexible and respectful towards individuals with special needs.
  • Great attention-to-detail and understanding of the importance of confidentiality is essential.
  • A sense of urgency to complete tasks efficiently, with the ability to manage multiple projects. Dependable, punctual, and professional.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong communications skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.

    • Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in vocational rehabilitation, special education, human services, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with adults with special needs.
  • Previous job coaching and / or job development experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation best practices.
  • Positive attitude towards individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder at all levels.

    Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and / or experience deemed comparable and / or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
