Job Summary :
Green Mountain Energy is looking for a driven Sales Team Lead to manage a team of Sales Agents who acquire customers through face-to-face interactions at nationally known retailers, farmers markets, events, and other locations as they arise. The Sales Team Lead works closely with the recruiting team and the Area Manager to build and maintain their market through Sales Agent management and development, achieve sales goals, drive market share, and ensure compliance mitigating risks. The position consists of in-field work with direct reports, administrative duties, and office duties that include regular team meetings. The chosen candidate will enjoy a competitive salary, commission structure, and annual bonus.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Achieve sales forecast, retention, and quality goals
- Work constructively alongside all team members to supervise, motivate, and coach a team of sales agents
- Train new and existing sales agents with coordination from the training team
- Be accountable for the sales team delivering consistent sales messaging and brand representation
- Balance administrative and field duties
- Ensure clear communication to in accordance with expectations
- Work atypical schedules to oversee sales agent activities during evenings and weekends
- Help build and maintain partner relationships
- Ensure safety for all team members
- Provide sales coaching and motivation
- Manage agent tenure and attendance
- Review reports and identify performance issues
- Improve employee performance and sales processes
- Communicate with Area Sales Manager and other internal stakeholders as needed
- Attend meetings and actively participate
- Lead by example
- Maintain effective communication across teams including expectations, policies, and procedures
- Produce and maintain a shift schedule to ensure opportunities are staffed appropriately
- Verify and approve payroll hours and expense reports
- Track inventory and collect materials as needed
- Timely submit required reports with an emphasis on quality and accuracy
- Regularly communicate with employees during their shifts
- Ensure compliance with the approved commission and bonus plans
- Work with stakeholders across departments to support sales efforts
- Occasionally perform event setup duties
- Ensure sales agents are equipped with current tools and materials
- Support agent recruitment activities as needed
- Position reports to Area Sales Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityFace-to-face customer service and / or sales experiencePrior sales team management experienceExperience selling energy and home services productsStrong understanding / knowledge of renewable energyAptitude for understanding technologyHigh level of personal integrity (honesty and reliability are a must)Excellent oral and written communication skillsAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
