Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests promptly, respond to questions / concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and circulate to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using the POS system, including changes, receipts, and ensuring high-quality guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- Promote GameStop guest benefits such as new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations, training, and ensuring policy compliance.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
- Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
- Schedule store associates to meet guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time edits, and verify accurate pay for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising per guidelines, and ensure equipment functionality.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor.
- Balance daily transactions, complete closeout paperwork, manage cash and deposits in accordance with policy.
- Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct merchandise counts; communicate findings to leadership.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain safety awareness for associates and guests; report injuries per guidelines.
- Help maintain store records / files and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to GameStop policies and procedure manuals, including Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance during every visit.Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations.Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills.Complete required paperwork properly; follow instructions; execute financial tasks per policy.Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days / week availability.Manage pressure and adapt to changing environments; be creative and a problem solver.Reliable, trustworthy with good judgment.Able to work alone and stand / move for long periods; lift up to 30 lbs and reach overhead as needed.Onboarding may include knowledge of military ranks (where applicable).Benefits and Compensation
Benefits : Full-time store positions may be eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Bonus or other incentives may apply.
Compensation : $10.75 - $14.75 per hour.
