A leading organization in the advanced manufacturing and medical device sector is looking for an experienced Tooling Engineer to support tooling design, validation, and troubleshooting for complex injection molded components. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on ensuring high-performance, cost-effective tool solutions for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tooling (molds, jigs, fixtures) for plastic components based on product specifications
  • Participate in design reviews and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input
  • Validate tooling performance and troubleshoot issues related to molding and tool wear
  • Implement and document cost-effective tool design improvements
  • Support part qualification, tooling sampling, and final approval processes
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to tooling equipment and process history
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets project and production requirements
  • Provide timely updates and reports on tooling project status

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in tooling design and development for thermoplastics and / or thermosets in an injection molding environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of mold flow analysis , tooling validation, and injection molding processes
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues efficiently
  • Experience with design evaluation tools and manufacturing tolerances
  • Proficient in tooling documentation, mold drawings, and GD&T
  • Familiarity with PCB operations and electronic assembly is a plus
  • Experience using inspection and testing tools : oscilloscopes, microscopes, logic analyzers, measuring tools, harness testing
  • Hands-on use of mechanical and electrical tools including taps, dies, and alignment tools
  • Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and process documentation capabilities
