Position Summary :
The Medical Assistant manages patient flow throughout the clinic and supports providers in delivering high-quality care for patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
The role emphasizes collaborative work, delegated tasks, and adherence to state and organizational scope of practice.
The Medical Assistant reports to and collaborates with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers to achieve patient care, departmental, and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Clinical Care :
- Assist with patient rooming, vitals, and standard clinical procedures.
- Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by providers.
- Perform laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and routine clinic lab tests.
- Conduct x-ray duties if certified.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
- Support prescription refills and telephone inquiries.
Clinic Support :
Assist with front desk / check-in operations.Order, stock, and manage clinic supplies.Assist with prior authorizations and other administrative tasks.Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.Compliance & Professional Standards :Maintain patient and team member confidentiality.
Adhere to corporate code of conduct and organizational policies.Comply with legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements.Report violations or areas of concern through proper channels.Qualifications & Requirements :
Education :
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) – Required.Graduate of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant program – Required.Experience :
Previous clinical experience – Required.X-ray operator exam passed or willingness to complete if required.Certifications :Current BLS Certification – Required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Preferred.Skills & Abilities :
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.Proficiency with computer software applications.Reliable transportation for local worksite travel, if required.Benefits :
