CT Technologist Job DescriptionnPosition Summary : nA CT Technologist, or CT Tech, is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography equipment. They play a key role in patient care by producing high-quality images used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.nnKey Responsibilities : nPrepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring safety and comfort.nnOperate CT equipment to acquire high-resolution images.nnAdminister contrast media under the direction of a radiologist or physician.nnMonitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and proper imaging.nnReview and evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic quality.nnMaintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.nnAdhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures.nnCommunicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and healthcare teams.nnMaintain equipment and report any issues to ensure functionality and compliance.nnStay updated on industry best practices and continuing education requirements.nnQualifications : nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.nnCompletion of an accredited radiologic technology program.nnARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.nnAdvanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred or required by some employers.nnBLS (Basic Life Support) certification.nnState Licensing & Certification RequirementsnMost states require CT technologists to be licensed or certified, though requirements vary.
