Responsibilities Work in the MS / Tele unit of an acute care hospital Level 1 trauma facility with a 29-bed Med / Surg Telemetry unit Patient population includes general Med / Surg cases requiring telemetry; medications such as Amiodarone and Cardizem are administered with titration down only Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 for both days and nights 12-hour day shifts (7-7) with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period Floating required, including to MedSurg Tele C5 and B2D units, and may float to a sister facility Uses Cerner EMR and GE telemetry monitors Spectralink phones are used for call light communication Duties include providing care to Med / Surg and telemetry patients and titrating specific cardiac medications as ordered Charge nurse is available for support and does not take a patient assignment; nurse aides (PCTs) provide support during the day, 1 PCT or SWAT RN at night First to float among staff; must call physician for hospitalist or intensivist oversight when needed Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts Scrub color is navy One major and one minor holiday shift coverage required RT and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7 Previous direct employment (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with this health system within the past year is not permitted Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele experience within the last 6 months Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Ability to read telemetry strips is required Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to the start of the assignment (maximum two attempts) Must pass a Sim Lab evaluation on the first day of orientation Driver's license copy required for consideration Two references : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the past 3 years, both including dates of employment and rehire eligibility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621052.
