Job Description

RRD is seeking a highly skilled and business-minded Real Estate Commercial Contracts Attorney to join its Legal Department. This role is essential for managing our company's real estate portfolio while providing critical legal support for our broader business-to-business transactions.

This position is a dual-focus role, requiring deep expertise in both real estate and general commercial law.

Responsibilities :

Real Estate and Lease Management (Primary Focus) :

  • Act as lead counsel for all real estate transactions and leases.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts for the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of commercial retail and industrial properties.
  • Manage the full life-cycle of contracts related to the companys real estate portfolio.
  • Work closely with RRD’s property management services provider.

General Commercial and Business Support :

  • Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts for products and services, including procurement and sales agreements.
  • Provide proactive legal advice and counsel to management on legal and business matters, including contract risk  allocation, contract structure, and emerging privacy laws.
  • Work as an integral part of the business team to support commercial transactions objectives and strategies.
  • Qualifications

    We are looking for an experienced practitioner who can serve as a trusted advisor to the management team.

    Required Experience :

  • Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • 3–5 years of significant experience in a law firm or in-house corporate environment, with proven expertise in real estate transactions and lease negotiations.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with senior leadership, C-suite executives, and external parties.
  • Key Competencies and Skills :

  • Legal Expertise : Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex real estate and commercial business contracts. Must possess a proactive, hands-on style toward managing legal and business risks.
  • Business Acumen : Ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice that aligns with the company’s broader business strategy and objectives.
  • Influencing & Communication : Self-confident, mature, and adept communicator (both written and verbal) who can effectively translate complex legal concepts for non-legal business professionals, gain trust, and operate with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Teamwork and Culture : Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a geographically and culturally diverse team. Must possess an open, collaborative, and non-abrasive personal style, prioritizing broad business objectives over individual goals.
  • Additional Information

    RRD's current salary range for this role is $128,200 to $205,100 / year. The salary range may be adjusted

    based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the

    future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and

    compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency,

    performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation

    package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD’s benefit

    offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with

    company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental
