This role reports to and provides critical support to the Controller and broader team by managing benefit functions, processing payroll, certified payroll, handling accounting-related tasks, and ensuring regulatory and internal compliance. The ideal candidate has solid accounting knowledge, strong Payroll / Benefits capabilities, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Payroll & Benefits :
- Handle payroll processing and employee benefit program administration
- Maintain accurate and timely records for payroll / benefits
- Process certified payroll - TN State related jobs
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations and deadlines
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain confidential personnel files and benefit documentation
- Help coordinate HR-related compliance and reporting (e.g., I-9s, ACA, EEOC)
- Other duties as assigned
Accounting :
Process and review invoices (payroll and AP)Assist with monthly general journal entries and reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end closings and audit preparationSupport Controller in various contract administration and closeout tasksAct as a liaison between S&W Accounting and Corporate Payroll / Benefit departments for data integrityPerform general administrative duties including but not limited to paperless filing, scheduling, and communication with vendors and internal staffOther duties as assignedQualifications
Required :
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)Minimum 3-5 years' experience in payroll, accounting, and / or HR rolesHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skillsMaintains confidentialityStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordPreferred :
Experience with construction industry accounting and payrollFamiliarity with Foundation Construction Software, Trimble Spectrum or similar platformsFamiliar with employment lawKnowledge of Accounting & HR best practicesAbility to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal SupervisionWhat We Offer :
