Distribution Tech II

Under the Distribution Supervisor's supervision, the Distribution Tech II performs various preventative maintenance tasks and repairs to equipment. The essential functions include operating a super bagger, performing daily housekeeping duties, loading railcars and bulk trucks, cleaning pump pits, removing chunks from silos and air slides, visual inspection of lubrication gauges and belts, assisting with troubleshooting and correcting issues with equipment, and other duties as assigned.

Preferred education and experience include a high school diploma or GED. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include the ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language, must be able to learn to drive and operate bobcat, must be able to climb ladders and stairways, must be able to read and understand operating manuals, ability to lift to 60 pounds, ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings, able to use required hearing protection, ability to work at heights up to 60' above ground level.

Physical requirements include walking on all types of surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders, ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop and crawl under and into enclosed spaces, visual acuity, speech & hearing, hand & eye coordination, manual dexterity, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, and squatting. Must use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Working conditions include working in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, ice, rain, and in high humidity, and is required to work in all plant environments. The incumbent will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards and heights. May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS's).
