We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Newport News, VA . In this role, you will lead the design, planning, and execution of utility infrastructure projects — from concept through commissioning and close-out. You’ll work closely with design teams, technical experts, and contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead all phases of mechanical and utility infrastructure projects, including design, bid & award, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
- Conduct feasibility studies, assess risks, and develop High Level Feasibility Estimates (HLFEs).
- Develop comprehensive project plans covering justification, scope, deliverables, risks, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including design agents and technical experts, to define and execute project strategies.
- Ensure designs meet performance requirements, constructability standards, and safety regulations.
- Oversee selection and performance of qualified contractors and suppliers.
- Manage financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, progress tracking, and payment approvals.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal codes and environmental standards.
- Monitor project schedules, manage critical paths, and drive timely delivery.
- Promote a strong safety culture for all team members, employees, and contractors.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.8+ years of experience in mechanical design, construction, or infrastructure project management.Strong understanding of thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects from concept to completion.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
