About Us

At Spilled Milk , we believe shopping for babies and kids should be fun, stylish, and stress-free. We curate clothing, accessories, and gifts that celebrate the joy (and chaos!) of parenting. Were opening a temporary retail store in Montecito from October 2025 through January 2026 and are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail team, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and support the day-to-day operations of our boutique.

What Youll Do

As an Assistant Store Manager, youll be a key leader in creating a welcoming, efficient, and family-friendly store environment. Responsibilities include :

  • Supporting the Co-founders in daily operations and team leadership
  • Coaching and motivating team members to meet sales and service goals
  • Providing personalized customer service and styling / gift recommendations
  • Overseeing store opening / closing procedures
  • Managing inventory, restocking, and merchandising displays
  • Training and onboarding new associates
  • Helping plan and execute in-store promotions and events
  • Ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and visually appealing
  • Stepping into leadership when the co-founders are unavailable
  • Pitch in on fun projects outside of the store floorlike social media marketing, events, and spreading the word about Spilled Milk
  • Build valuable, hands-on retail and marketing experience to boost your rsum while being part of a fast-growing startup

What Were Looking For

  • 13 years of retail or supervisory experience (specialty, apparel, or boutique preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to deliver warm, personalized service to families and gift-givers
  • Enthusiasm for childrens clothing, style, and community connection
  • Comfortable with POS systems, scheduling, and basic reporting
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for shifts and lift up to 25 lbs
