Brief Description

Location : Remote-US. Dallas or Central Time preferred.

Purpose of the Role

Talent & Community Manager oversees the end-to-end staffing pipeline for Merchant Guild’s event and staffing services. This includes sourcing, recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and supporting temporary staff (brand ambassadors, event staffers, demo crews, etc.) for trade shows, activations, and client events in collaboration with the Event Project Lead. The role is also responsible for building and maintaining a digital talent community and ensuring long-term engagement and quality across all staffing efforts.

This position plays a key role in ensuring high execution standards at events and acts as a liaison between staffers, clients, and the internal events / ops teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition & Roster Management
  • Build and maintain a scalable database of vetted staffers across key event markets.
  • Ensure both on-site training at events and general training of the staff to ensure high quality staffing service.
  • Actively scout and recruit new talent via industry platforms, job boards, Discord, Reddit, and other relevant digital spaces.
  • Implement and refine onboarding processes to ensure staffers are trained, prepared, and aligned with Merchant Guild’s standards.
  • Online Community & Engagement
  • Manage a digital community (e.g., Discord, private groups) for active and prospective staffers.
  • Facilitate regular communication, engagement campaigns, and informational updates to keep staff informed and connected to the brand.
  • Promote internal culture, professionalism, and shared values within the staffer network.
  • Event Staffing & Scheduling
  • Coordinate staffing assignments in collaboration with the Event Project Lead and client services.
  • Ensure all roles are filled according to event timelines, budget constraints, and skill requirements.
  • Provide staff with logistical and operational details and serve as the main point of contact for event readiness.
  • Performance Management & Feedback
  • Serve as on-site or remote supervisor for staff performance and conduct.
  • Collect post-event feedback from clients and internal teams to evaluate staff effectiveness.
  • Administrative & Operational Support
  • Maintain records including contracts, time tracking, payroll inputs, and compliance documentation.
  • Track and report on staffing KPIs, including fill rates, talent retention, satisfaction scores, and community growth.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning related to staffing needs.

  • Operational efficiency in scheduling, payroll, and compliance
  • Talent acquisition and staffing operations experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and community-building skills
  • Language proficiencies : English + Local languages for each region
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-pressure situations
  • Knowledge of tools like Click-UP, Discord, Office Suite, or similar
  • Passion for events, gaming, and / or experiential marketing is a strong plus
