J&L Companies, an award-winning, family-owned and operated real estate company in Newark, NJ, seeks a dynamic, results-oriented leader with exceptional operational precision and attention to detail to support the launch and management of a new coworking space located within one of our residential buildings. This role requires a hands-on operator with real experience in coworking who can take full ownership and confidently guide the project from the ground up.
As the Coworking Manager, you will lead the daily and strategic operations of our coworking space, ensuring a seamless member experience while driving growth, efficiency, and profitability. You will manage memberships, events and the facilities, balancing a hospitality-driven mindset with operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, who thrives in dynamic environments and excels at relationship building.

Membership Engagement & Retention
- Serve as the primary leader and point of contact for members, ensuring an exceptional and consistent experience.
- Drive retention and growth through proactive engagement, data-driven strategies, and community building initiatives.
- Oversee member onboarding, offboarding, and feedback cycles, identifying trends to improve satisfaction.
- Curate and execute social, professional, and wellness events that foster collaboration and strengthen community ties.
- Develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations to enhance member value and visibility.
- Support occupancy goals by managing tours, outreach and following up with prospective members.
- Represent the brand with professionalism and authenticity, ensuring alignment with company culture and values.
Building Operations & Management
Oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring facilities, offices, and amenities are maintained to the highest standards.Lead vendor relationships, maintenance coordination, and operational improvements for optimal performance.Manage budgets, expenses, and reporting to ensure financial targets and cost-efficiency goals are met.Partner with ownership, property management, and facilities teams to resolve escalations and support capital improvements.Implement systems and procedures that enhance community efficiency, safety, and compliance.Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and profitability.Qualifications
Required - 3–5 years of experience in coworking management.Proven leadership in operations, client relations, and team development.Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Experience planning community or networking events preferred.Familiarity with industry software systems and marketing tools.Spanish language proficiency a plus.Benefits
