Precision Automation Machine Assembler
Location : Holland, MI
Pay : $25–$30 per hour
A Day in the Build Bay
When you step onto the floor, you’re the craftsperson who turns drawings into real, working machines. You’ll interpret mechanical and assembly prints, lay out components, and methodically assemble systems with the tools you’ve selected from your own toolbox. You’ll move between tasks—bending and kneeling to reach tight spots, climbing ladders to access upper assemblies, and occasionally working under machinery—while keeping quality, safety, and efficiency at the center of everything you do.
What You’ll Tackle
- Build equipment from mechanical drawings using personally supplied hand tools; read and interpret both part and assembly prints with confidence.
- Document issues and changes promptly; communicate build status and open items to the Machine Build Lead.
- Work independently or with teammates to stay on plan for cost, timing, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Uphold ISO and internal quality standards; keep your work area organized and clean.
- Coordinate external processes such as finish, heat treat, and deburring, ensuring pick-up / delivery align with project timing.
- Assist the lead builder with task lists, machine safety / quality checks, and driving projects to completion.
- Operate shop equipment safely and effectively, including mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, saws, shears, and presses.
Physical & Safety Expectations
Maintain a steady work pace with frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and access to areas on / under machinery.Safely lift up to 50 lbs as needed.Obtain / maintain required certifications : Hi-Lo (forklift), Aerial Platform, Overhead Crane, and Lock Out Tag Out training (to be obtained while employed at JR Automation).What You Bring
Strong mechanical aptitude and an eye for quality with a safety-first mindset.Ability to read mechanical and assembly drawings; familiarity with electrical schematics.Self-driven, reliable, and collaborative—comfortable working with minimal supervision or as part of a team.Ownership of appropriate hand tools and a suitable toolbox for daily use.How We Hire
