Job Responsibilities :

1.    Equipment Operation : Safely operate the cherry picker to raise, lower, and maneuver the platform to required heights while adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.

2.    Safety Compliance : Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection gear, and safety harnesses.

3.    Site Preparation : Assess the work area and the condition of the equipment prior to operation. Identify potential hazards, obstacles, or risks that could affect safe operation and address them accordingly.

4.    Platform Setup : Position and stabilize the cherry picker on level ground to prevent any tilting or instability while working at height.

5.    Collaboration : Communicate effectively with team members on the ground, providing necessary instructions and updates during tasks. Coordinate tasks with other workers and trades to ensure seamless operations.

6.    Maintenance : Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks on the cherry picker, such as checking fluid levels, ensuring proper functioning of controls, and reporting any defects or malfunctions.

7.    Load Capacity Management : Understand the cherry picker's weight limitations and load capacities to ensure safe operation and prevent overloading.

8.    Problem Solving : Troubleshoot minor issues that may arise during operation, such as mechanical problems or communication difficulties.

9.    Documentation : Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment inspections, and any incidents or near misses that occur during the course of the job

Qualifications :

1.    Certification : Previous certifications or licenses required to operate a cherry picker or aerial lift. This could include certifications from recognized bodies such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

2.    Training : Undergo comprehensive training on the safe operation of cherry pickers, including topics like equipment controls, emergency procedures, and fall protection.

3.    Physical Fitness : Possess physical fitness and agility to work comfortably at heights for extended periods. The ability to maintain focus and concentration while performing tasks at elevation is essential.

5.    Communication Skills : Effective communication is crucial for coordinating tasks with team members and relaying important information during operation.
