Position Description : Calibration Technician

The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of all measuring and test equipment used within the facility. This role manages both in-house verification activities and the external calibration program while supporting quality engineers in addressing nonconforming equipment and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.

Requirements

Primary Duties :

  • Oversee and coordinate the annual calibration program in GageTrak software and with approved third-party calibration providers.
  • Track due dates, ensure timely scheduling, and maintain calibration certificates.
  • Manage inventory of all calibrated tools and distribute newly calibrated equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of verification, calibration, and equipment status.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable ISO 9001 standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and evidence of calibration program compliance.
  • Perform weekly verification of torque wrenches to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Verify calipers, micrometers and all kind of measuring devices regularly to maintain reliability of readings and outputs.
  • Use digital torque wrenches to verify torque values during process audits and shop floor checks.
  • Support quality engineers in assessing the impact of nonconforming or out-of-tolerance equipment on production and quality.

Experience and Skills :

  • 2+ years of experience in calibration, quality, or metrology roles (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Ability to use hand-held tools and electronic devices to perform job duties, including micrometers, calipers, and Torque Wrenches.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Skilled at verbal and written communication.
  • Basic ability with Microsoft Office (word processor and excel), Google Drive Documents and computer applications.
  • Pass a background check and drug screen.

  • Skills Preferred or Desired :

  • Electrical assembly experience
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Knowledge of torque measurement, dimensional inspection, and calibration standards (ANSI / ISO).
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to assist in nonconformance investigations.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to support engineers, technicians, and production staff.
  • Ability to navigate an array of computer programs.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 : 2015 manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Education :

  • High school diploma or technical certification (associate degree in engineering or metrology preferred).
