Job Summary
The team leader will work as part of the direct manufacturing shop floor team. In this position, the team leader will lead the production of a specified department in a manufacturing environment. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that the employees in their department are building parts to meet customer requirements and on time to meet production schedules. This professional will work with concentration and precision while complying with safety guidelines. This position requires the operation of machinery in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to read instructions and follow these instructions with precision to produce output.
Essential / Key Functions
- Assemble or build parts to capital equipment by following engineering controlled documents to produce customer ordered equipment.
- Work with management to ensure that needed supplies, inventory and direction are provided to manufacturing employees to produce quality equipment built to customer specifications.
- Able to stop production if the work center / machine is not producing products that meet all required specifications.
- Assign tasks to employees as directed to meet the production schedule set forth.
- Work with cross-functional teams to find solutions to production, process or quality issues.
- Facilitate the training of new employees in their area and cross-training of production employees from other areas.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform Quality checks for department work when complete.
- Monitor performance : regularly assess teams' performance, provide feedback and identify areas of improvement.
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skill and performance.
- This is a working team lead position.
- Ensure all team members operate in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA standards, including proper PPE such as safety glasses and safety shoes.
- Inform team of updates and changes necessary to complete their jobs efficiently.
- Collaborate with Engineering to drive improvements and ECNs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and operate machinery in a safe manner.
- Physical presence on the job is essential and may require weekends and holidays if deemed necessary by the company.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plusPrevious experience as a team leader is preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.Knowledge of requirements to maintain a safe working environment.Knowledge of VISUAL ERP system a plus.Ability to read blueprints for Mopec products.Use of logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and teach others.Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.Ability to understand quality control principles.Good communication skills (verbal and written).Must support mission and purpose of the company and be committed to professional and personal growth.Disclaimer
