Director Of Supply Chain

The Director Of Supply Chain will lead multiple teams of supply chain professionals across various sites in the US and Mexico. These teams are responsible for both direct and indirect procurement, developing and implementing strategies for our future supply base, managing supplier performance, and achieving internal business objectives.

The Director Of Supply Chain is involved in critical day to day procurement operations and is responsible for both the tactical and strategic aspects of the supply chain organization and improving our tools and processes to ensure high customer satisfaction and preparing our supply chain for future operational needs.

The Director Of Supply Chain will have ownership over key performance areas, including supplier on-time delivery, production material costs, supply chain improvement goals, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The essential job functions include : planning and managing all activities involved in sourcing and procurement according to business needs, managing inventories to achieve cash flow goals by matching demand with supply while minimizing inventory levels, coordinating the activities of the Supply Chain and setting priorities to ensure operational efficiency, ensuring that cost, quality, and delivery goals are met, developing and driving a continuous improvement agenda to ensure successful execution of productivity projects, adapting the Supply Chain organization to its environment, linking major business functions and processes into a cohesive, high-performing model, creating and maintaining a positive working environment with other functional leaders, defining, adapting, and improving procurement methods, organizing or negotiating contracts with suppliers, working on supplier improvement initiatives to enhance performance, maintaining and optimizing the business supplier panel by fostering and developing sustainable relationships, participating in the ERP implementation concerning Supply Chain aspects, focusing on change management, maintaining periodic KPIs to analyze performance and define root cause and corrective actions for unmet metrics, aligning and establishing goals and objectives for the Supply Chain department, in line with the business strategic roadmap and operational objectives, driving talent development strategies, including succession planning and career development processes, assigning and monitoring the work of subordinates, including training, coaching, performance planning and appraisal, hiring, transferring, promoting, or terminating employees, complying with all safety, health, and environmental regulations as prescribed by law and company policies, and performing other duties as assigned.

Travel Specificity : Occasional travel between Mexicali and Irvine less than 25%.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier / printer. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information these situations. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds across office for various needs.

Work Environment : The work environment is in office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Experience in Relevant Business Sector : Experience within aerospace industry a plus, not required.

Candidate skills & requirements :

Required Competencies :

Education / Experience : Bachelor's degree in business or engineering from an accredited institution (MBA preferred). 10+ years of leadership experience in a high product mix environment. 5+ years of leading large teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Ability to build good working relationships across department and with supplier & customer representatives. Ability to drive cross-functional alignment of demand, supply, and inventory plans to optimize service levels, working capital, and operational efficiency through the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process. Demonstrable knowledge of ERP. IT literacy in MS Office. Working knowledge of Power BI and SAP.

Annual salary : $160K-$215K
